Anti-SEZ protestors support Anti-Mining protestors in Advalpal

It was unique occasion on June 08, 2008 in Advalpal when anti SEZ protestors from Keri, Ponda came all the way to Advalpal to support anti-mining protesters in Advalpal village on Bardez-Bicholim border. In the above picture Pratiksha Gawde from Keri addressing the public meeting in Advalpal.

Ramesh Gauns dealt on need to maintain unity and called upon the people to prepare for the long haul in struggle.


Dr. Claude Alvares while exposing the mining companies, one person paid and sent by mining companies tried to disrupt the gathering but could not do anything as Advalpal Nagrik Gram Sudhar Kriti Samiti effectively handled the situation to avoid any untoward incident.



Shivnath Gaonkar from Sirigao offered his support the the Advalpal villagers. Sirigao village is ruined due to mining trade drying up their traditional water sources.

Pravin Sabnis of Goa Bachao Abhiyan (GBA) called for greater organising of the villagers across the State of Goa particularly those fighting builders, SEZ and mining. He also conveyed solidarity message of the group from Benaulim - Ganv-Ghor Rakhan Manch.
