This is a green forest cover. At the top right corner of this picture mining is evident to have made its mark.
Here it is - mining right on top of the mountain in Mayem, Bicholim.
While Goa government has been pocketed by mining companies long time ago now they are pocketing Goa's mountains, its Forests- evergreen Western Ghats forest.
Visible mining dumps on top of the green forest cover. Dempos thought it was wise sell their mining leases to British corporate Vedantas who already owns Sesa Goa mining company.
Mining activities in Mayem has led to large scale drying up of drinking water wells and also affected famous Mayem lake.
