State of soil when mining silt invades
You can judge for yourself! This picture is from TERI report of 1997. Soil loses its fertility and then cracks as shown in the picture. Agriculture is deliberately ruined by mining industry in Goa.
Goa is mostly known for being a top tourist destination, but away from the coast mining is the major industry, and it is severely impacting local water. Click here for video.
