The Quepem police are all the way out to harass and terrorise the tribals of Quepem at the instance of mining company. That the Quepem police today morning called tribal youth from Cavrem Quepem based on the complaint lodge by one Kulkarni, manager of the N.G. Navgi mine presently operated by Tarkar on Sunday 18/1/2009.
The Quepem police than arrested five tribal youth of cavrem namely Satyendra Gaonkar, Ashish Gaonkar, Sandesh Gaonkar, Ramesh Gaonkar, and Deepak Gaonkar who were later released by the JMFC Quepem.
The quepem police are so quick to act on the complaint lodge by the officials of the mining company, but for the same police it takes weeks to even register the complaint lodge by the villagers against the mining company.
Are Quepem police headed by P.I. Santosh Dessai agents of the mining Companies? Are the police officials of Quepem paid by the mining companies, if not why they are acting as their agents?
