Anti-mining protestors arrested due to 'unlawful assembly'

While anti-mining protestors got arrested for 'unlawful assembly' yesterday, there is a meeting in Colamb today to share information and to express solidarity with them.

At about 10 am today, a team of concerned citizens will go and register cases against mafia goons, who instigated violence and attacked peaceful protestors, who had only chained themselves to trucks in an attempt to stop mining outside their homes!!! Initially, police refused to register cases against them but due to mounting pressure since yesterday, they have relented to this demand.

Tomorrow, another delegation will make a representation to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, DGP and Director of Mines with their concerns and demands vis-a-vis this issue.
