Ex-Chief Minister of Goa Shri Manohar Parriker today - August 07, 2008 joined the Colomba 'Naxalite' group in opposing the mining, but he got the brunt from the villagers.

Along with him was seen Sanguem BJP MLA who was hardly seen supporting the agitating villagers against mining.

It may be recalled that in the second week of July Parrikar termed the villagers of Colomba who are opposing the mining and fighting for their right as 'Naxalite' and demanded their arrest.

When Parrikar addressed the public two women from the public marched on the stage and questioned him about his Naxalite statement made by him, at which time there was a chaos in the hall.

Criticizing Parrikar over his appearance a villager Salvador Dias claimed that Parrikar who has termed the mining opposing lobby of Colomba as 'Naxalite' has not right to come for a public hearing to oppose the mine. It may be with a motive to gain sympathy from the Public.

Embarrassed Parrikar left the Podium as well as Colamb villager. It was a fitting lesson to the man who danced to the tune of the mining companies and joined forced with enemies of Adivasi population of Goa.

It may be recalled that Gawda, Kunbi, Velip and Dhangar Fedeartion (GAKUVED) has come out with open criticism of Mr. Manohar Parrikar. Click here to read GAKUVED statement on Mr. Parrikar.
