Goa Federation of Mines Affected People (GOAMAP) is strongly opposed to the land acquisition for the broadening of Tilamol-Curchorem road to facilitate mining industry. Goa government has recently published land acquisition notice for the expansion of the additional land to convert the existing road into four lane road in public interest.
GOAMAP is of considered opinion that there is no public interest is involved in broadening of this road. Only the private interest of mining industry is involved and is shamelessly being camouflaged as public interest by Goa Government.
GOAMAP expresses its solidarity with people from Tilamol to Curchorem area currently protesting against the land acquisition.
It is indeed a matter of deep shame for the State of Goa that it’s mining minister Digambar Kamat is supervising the disruption of homes with this proposed road expansion. Such minister has no right to rule Goa as its Chief Minister and must be thrown into the dustbin of history.
GOAMAP demands immediate cancellation of the land acquisition notice for road expansion.
